The Popular Show Season Four Reveals the Soldiers Party

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in influence within the urban setting.

Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.

This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

As described by the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.

Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.

A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.

The antagonist then cleared his debts and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Moreover, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
  • The knowledgeable figure knows the region and warns that it is a hostile place.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
  • But, their status as key figures in House Halovar could help the team access places they usually can’t.
  • Moreover, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • Tyranny and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • The target is wanted dead by the clan.

This means them little choice but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.

Upcoming Developments

From episode three’s Cooldown, we discover that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Questers and Schemers groups.

Viewers can expect finding out which characters will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
